Last updated 11 July 2026. A short, plain-English summary of exactly what we collect.
The short version
FinFettle is a free resource. We collect as little about you as possible, we don't sell your data, our analytics uses no cookies (which is why there's no cookie banner), and the interactive tools run in your browser.
What we collect
- Tool data stays on your device. When you save a tank in the volume calculator, that information is stored locally in your own browser — it is not sent to us.
- Email, only if you give it — and only after you confirm. If you sign up for a checklist or our email list, we use double opt-in: nothing is added to our list until you click the confirmation link we email you. Your address is used only to send what you signed up for, and every email includes an unsubscribe link. Our email list is managed by Kit, which stores it on our behalf.
- Contact form messages. If you use the contact form, your name, email and message are delivered to us by Web3Forms and used only to read and reply to your message.
- Cookieless, anonymous analytics. We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and IP addresses are not stored. We see aggregate, non-identifying numbers — which pages are read and roughly how far, whether the tools get used, and whether signups happen — never who you are.
Cookies & third parties
We set no advertising or tracking cookies, which is why you don't see a consent banner. Some links are affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure), and retailers you click through to have their own privacy policies.
Your choices
You can use the site without giving us any personal information, unsubscribe from email whenever you like (one click, in any email), and clear the locally-saved tank data from your browser at any time. To ask about your data — including having your email removed entirely — reach us via the contact page.
